Side-trip — cheaper flights with a few days somewhere on the way

Two separate one-way tickets with a few days in a city between them often cost less than flying straight there. Side-trip works out what the direct flight costs, then prices both legs through every city that could sit on the way, and shows the combinations that beat it.

An example

Paris to Dubai direct: €677. Paris to Larnaca (€104), four days in Cyprus, then Larnaca to Dubai (€111): €215. Both flights nonstop, both on Cyprus Airways, bought as two separate tickets.

How it works

• Both flight legs are nonstop — never a connection with a wait.
• Stopovers are measured in days, not hours. Two days minimum, because the point is to see a city rather than an airport.
• Two separate tickets means two separate bookings, so no airline is responsible for the whole journey. The multi-day gap makes that risk small, but it is real and stated on every result.
• Prices come from flight data providers and are never estimated. Only cost-of-living figures for a stopover city are estimates, and they are labelled as such.
